MEDIS, TANTO & PLATTAN HEADPHONES
Scandinavian design collective, Urbanears has launched a series of headphones with three unique models, Plattan, Tanto and Medis, each available in 14 color varieties. Like many successful street brands given the no-logo-all-color-garments a face, Urbanears is set to make a statement in audio fashion wear.
Plattan is designed to be the perfect classic headphone, utilizing innovative functions and performance with current technology. It’s a full size headphone allowing for rich, secluded sound. The entire unit folds down to the size of a fist for maximum mobility, best of all, Plattan also comes with a “zound plug” which is actually not a plug, but rather a socket that allows your friend to plug into your earcap and listen to the same thing you are listening to.
Tanto is designed for maximum mobility without the compromise of performance, a tribute to the ‘80’s revolution in mobile music.
Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke by Bun B - Inspired by Air Jordan XI Space Jam
During his last visit to New York, Bun B, stopped by Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer Street and worked with the team there to create his own Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke, with the inspiration from the shoes coming from the soon to be released Air Jordan XI “Space Jam” shoes. Bun used his creativity and sneaker knowledge to craft this Air Force 1 Bespoke using Black patent leather on the toebox, Black mesh on the quarter and back of the shoe, a White midsole, finished with a Ice (clear) outsole. Bun also went the extra step to add Royal Blue 3M tongue lace loops to give the shoes a little bit of added flavor.
Takashi Murakami - “Kanye West Bear”
In Room 17 of the Pop Life: Art In A Material World exhibition currently held at London’s Tate Modern, Takashi Murakami has set up shop with his exhibition titled Collaboration Addiction. Drawing inspiration from the Japanese popular culture especially that of anime and otaku lifestyle, the exhibition also aims to serve as a reflection of Murakami’s commercial collaborative work. In the midst of paintings and sculptures with some collaborative work done with pop cultural icons such as Pharrell Williams, Mc G and Kirsten Dunst, spotted is a large bear sculpture iconic of Kanye West. While this is a different colored version, the silhouette of the bear is the same as his previous exhibition at Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris. If you can’t make it to check out the exhibitions in person before Jan 17, here’s a picture of the bear to quell your curiosity.
