WTAPS x Supreme Holiday 2009 Capsule Collection
This Winter, Supreme and WTAPS have teamed up to produce a collection that includes a reversible melton wool/cotton varsity jacket in two colorways, three graphic T-shirts and a melton wool pillow in two colors. All three pieces came out great and are instant classics. Supreme will be releasing the collection in store on December 29th in the US and on January 2nd in Japan. Only the t-shirts will also see an online store release.
Maison Martin Margiela Suite
Before officially stepping down from Maison Martin Margiela, the acclaimed designer created a special Ile aux Oiseaux suite within the Les Sources de Caudalie near Bordeaux. Tagged as classic Margiela, the suite features a mostly white interior decor with various hints of the Belgian designer’s signature touch seen throughout everything, including custom pillows.
For 650 euros a night and up, guests can retreat to the avant-garde chambre between spa treatments and bottles of premier cru at the hotel’s La Grand’Vigne restaurant. The suite’s decor is classic Margiela, with its white-on-white-on-gray palette and trompe l’oeil playfulness: overlapping white calfskin rugs cover the bedroom floor, 12 white pillows are stitched to a white wall to form a headboard. The wallpaper in the sitting room is printed to look like the ghostly walls of a Haussmanian apartment, while the bathroom floor “tiles” are photo-printed pebbles. The only shock of color among the slip-covered 1950s chairs and mirrored cubes comes from a red hot-lips sofa. The effect is as calming as it is subtly disarming.
Gemballa - Ferrari MIG-U1
The Middle East have been known for their fair share of exclusive luxury car culture with super cars being a dime a dozen. So do an individual stay apart from the usual crowd of Ferraris and Lamborghinis? Put a one off kit by Germany’s finest Gemballa. Although Porsches are synonymous with Gemballa but they have prepared this one of MIG-U1 for their distributor in Dubai for the upcoming auto show.
No details have been released yet as they want to keep it under wraps until the actual launch, however from the looks of it from photos the exterior of the Ferrari has been given an extreme make over that look like it may transform into a robot any minute with exaggerated body kit, wing, wide fenders and exhaust pipes. The interior has been given a substantial face lift with upholstery upgrade as well as LCD screen that takes charge of the in car entertainment system.
Casio - G-Shock DW6900 Matte White
It is common to see the Casio G-Shock watch collection in stealthy black or brighter fruity colors lingering between manly tough aesthetics and pop aesthetics. Surprisingly this DW6900 model uses a basic matte white finish that is fresh to the eyes and offers a different appearance to other releases. The refined look is balanced with a good use of black elements on the face and function displays. All of the other standard features of the watch such as timers, water resistance and of course shock resistance can be expected. Metallic champagne gold case safely packages this time piece.
MEDICOM TOY x KZK - Series 19 BE@RBRICK
Apart from the one off custom BE@RBRICK that MEDICOM TOY produces as collaborations, their standard BE@RBRICK series have reached to Series 19 and this series invites famed Japanese designer Kazuki Kuraishi aka KZK as one of the artist in the series. KZK is most prominently known for his work for Fragment Design as well as adidas and other high profile brands in Japan and around the world. For this BE@RBRICk he has designed a simple clear body that is accented by flocked face in green and ears in yellow color. On the clear body is a print of what appears to be stem and leaves of a plant leading up to the face.
Casio G-Shock x Hosu - Custom Swarovski Crystal Watches
Casio G-Shock has been a status symbol not only for the average street culture followers but by big name musicians and entertainers who customize their favorite model encrusted with diamonds set in gold or platinum even. However that can be a out of reach for many people and so Japanese brand Hosu have come up with an alternative that looks the part and easy on the wallet.
Taking two of the most popular G-Shock models, DW5600 and DW6900 and upgrading the outer case with real silver 925.
